DraXparK Giant Schnauzers

Hello
We are Lesley and Jim Parker from a small village near Drax in North Yorkshire. We own, show and very occasionally breed Giant Schnauzers. We have always owned one or more dogs since early childhood and cannot imagine life without them.

Inka

Our first encounter with a Giant Schnauzer was in 2002 at the local training class we attended with 'Inka' our beloved spotty friend.

A few years later after moving house and suffering a theft, we decided it was time for a larger more imposing dog and by coincidence we saw the same Giant again at our training class. After speaking to her owner and researching the breeds characteristics we decided a giant was the right dog for us, and very soon our first Giant 'Kaiser' arrived.

A lovely couple we had come to know who owned and showed Miniature Schnauzers introduced us to the show scene, and much to our suprise it became an interest and hobby myself and Jim could share.

About Us As a child I knew I wanted to spend time with dogs (kennel maid, police dog handler, veterinary nurse etc)... but in the end I decided to devote 21 years of my life helping people instead and worked as a Registered General Nurse mostly in Accident and Emergency, until one day we were both involved in a serious accident ourselves, a wake up call!.....so now we have Giants....how funny a twist of fate has lead to my childhood dreams.

I think because of my medical background we are especially fanatical about the health of our Giants and their offspring. We have a modern approach to dogs and we embrace modern technology to assist in producing happy and healthy Giants to the best of our ability.

We like to keep in touch with the people who own our dogs and are more than happy to help in any way we can.
